I detest the LG Shine I got stuck with so I am thinking of getting a new phone in the next few months. Let's pretend I hate the iPhone and don't want to consider it. What are some other good options?

Well it depends. If you are staying with AT&T, then maybe the Ericsson, at least according to a few friends.

Problem is, I have Verizon, so I can't be too much help.

And you say pretend you hate the iPhone; is it not an option altogether, or you want to try soemthing different?

I enjoy the iPhone for all of its innovations... I just can't use the same phone my mother does. It's a nerd-pride thing.

Well if she has the iPhone, then how about using Plan B? Just wait for when she's asleep, then "mysteriously," her phone is switched for a Jitterbug. It's chep, and she'll never know the difference! (sarcasm mode)
