No sooner have you begun to see the end of the Assassin's Creed 2 tunnel when suddenly out of nowhere comes news about Assassin's Creed 3!  This may be a bit of odd news but it seems that the main protagonist of AC2, Ezio, will continue to take the lead for the next game.  While Ubisoft seems adament about the fact that this is a full-blown game and not just an expansion we can already hear the fans crying about possibly not having a new era of history to play through.

"We have a new Assassin's Creed that we expect will be a very high quality product that as well as an offline component will have a multiplayer component," commented Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot.  "It is the same studios because it's not only one studio creating the game, but an association of the studios and they are working together to make it happen.

What does all this mean?  To be totally honest the details are so vague we aren't completely sure.  This news seems to stack into the 'unfavorable' column but with plenty of time between now and the prospective release date of March 2010 there is plenty that could change.

Maybe it could be part of the series, but it's not really part of the "main" series. Like Chain of Memories with Kingdom Hearts, or the way World at War was in the Middle of the two Modern Warfares. I honestly have no idea either, I'm just guessing...

Bloodlines was the last one.

Well I just a full, real, GOOD, AC3 to be that rumored idea of WW2, and being the female assassin, maybe in France or Germany, that'd eb cool.
